UK July Heatwave

Jul 29, 2019 11:49:35 AM

UK temperatures hit a new high this month with the 2nd hottest day on record on July 25th.
Whilst many choose to celebrate by taking the day off and having a Mediterranean style staycation, others struggled to keep normal services running.

The previous hottest day in July record of 36.7c and only just fell short of the all time record for hottest day of 38.5c.

UK commuters faced serious disruptions on travel when train lines had several heat related incidents. At London's St Pancras station commuters hopes of travel and heat related irritations hit a new high when several trains were cancelled due to over head wires bursting into flames.

Many UK workers were encouraged to work from home and avoid travel. Many capitalised spending time with children and pets at local outdoor swimming pools, gardens or local seaside towns.

As many of you may know Deckchair HQ is based in the UK city of Brighton; a seaside town, coveted by locals and tourist alike. Our most local Deckchair cam at Visit Brighton captured some fantastic footage.
